64 Quarts will be back again on Friday night. Last time they impressed up with a great cover of Billy Joel's "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant".

Sinch frontman Jamie Stem will be here Saturday night taking requests because well...he's just that good. Seriously, the guy's unreal.

Sunday's filled with fun as Soul Station works the brunch crowd while Lou Aiello has the dinner crowd dancing. Literally.

CHOW284 VS Competitors - We win the Phillies Happy Hour Battle!

Just noticed up the road from our fine establishment, a certain pub within a certain plaza, which will remain nameless, has a flashing marquee that promotes a Phillies Happy Hour that just isn't all that impressive.

PHILLIES GAMES
$2.50 COORS LT PINTS
scrolls proudly across a sign suspended 25 feet in the air in big bright red letters 24/7 on Street Road. It's great advertising, however, in this case the product just isn't as good as oh say...$1.50 PABST PINTS.

That's right folks, only $1.50 at CHOW284 during all Phillies games from start to finish. $1 per beer LESS than the competition.

If the average sports nut drinks 6 beers during the game (ok so I'm being a little modest), that's $6 saved per game. The MLB season is 162 games. By drinking at CHOW284 instead of some boring, overpriced gin joint up the road, you could save $972 per season!

So I say to you, dear overpriced competitor, stop wasting the good consumers money and send them down to CHOW284!

We will be dancin' - Soul Station @ 11am & Lou Aiello @ 7pm Sunday, July 30

Sunday, July 30
It's that time again for all to be merry and dance the night away.

We're starting Sunday off right with Soul Station once again captivating our brunch crowd. This young, jazz trio earns 100 Facebook "likes" each time they play because they're so good.

Their set will run from 11am-2pm.

Cap off the night with some boogeying at the hands...or should I say voice...of Lou Aiello. We already contracted our floor guy to come replace the hardwood on Monday after all the foxtrots and jitterbugs wear the boards away.

His set will run from 7pm-10pm.

Dan Ward performing live Friday, July 22 @ 8pm - FREE MP3's!!!

Dan Ward performing live!
Friday, July 22 at 8pm

DAN WARD MUSIC. Three magical words anybody with a soul should be happy to hear. Dan Ward will be performing at CHOW284 on Friday, July 22 at 8pm.

Dan's repetoire ranges from modern day punk rockers Blink 182 to 60's sensations and all-time greats The Beatles. He even takes an occasional swipe at country. No matter what, he always comes out on top, with a satisfied crowd.

So come out on the 22nd and see "The Rock Show". In fact, come in "Right Now". The 284 Happy Hour begins at 5. But don't forget to bring your dancing shoes, since "Your Momma Don't Dance" somebody needs to occupy "The Middle" of the dance floor. Dan's music sounds "Just Like Heaven", he'll have you in bed by "3 AM" with a smile on your face. "In The End" you'll feel great knowing Dan has worked so hard "All For You".

*Click the links to download Dan's version of each in mp3 form. PS - if a link happens to be broken, yell at Dan when you see him. He likes it.

Lou Aiello performing live Sunday, July 17 @7pm

Lou Aiello live!
Sunday, July 17 @ 7pm

Lou has become a staple among CHOW284 musical acts. Everybody enjoys his renditions of all-time great musicians such as Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra & Peter Gabriel. Some even join in the fun, whether it be by dancing or singing (big thanks to Johnny Rockets for the special guest appearance). We're all looking forward to seeing him again.

Lou is set to begin at 7pm, just as the dinner rush finishes up. The timing is perfect for the well-fed to relax with a few drinks and sing along to the classic tunes we all know.

Carly Krantz live performance Friday July 15 @ 8:30pm!!!

Carly Krantz(formerly of Kenotia)
live Friday, July 15 @ 8:30pm

Carly Krantz is back for her second performance here at CHOW284 and if round 2 is anything like round 1, we're all in for a treat.

Carly%20Krantz

Originaly from Atlanta, Carly is kind enough to grace us with her presence here in Pennsylvania. She provides an amazing energy through her powerful vocals.

The video quality may not be great, but we plan on recording new ones. Make sure you come and "get your boogie on" for the next set of videos. Carly deserves better.  ;)

Kitchen Jams is performing Thursday, July 21 @ 9pm at CHOW284!

Thursday, July 21 @ 9pm

Kitchen Jams will be in the Philadelphia area for a few days and there was no way we could let them get away without performing. Jake, Stan and Sam are 3 extremely talented and versatile musicians who alternate instruments, as well as lead vocals throughout their sets. They have a punk/folk/reggae feel that makes head-bobbing, foot-tapping and sing-alongs irresistable.

Their biggest influences are Sublime and The Avett Brothers, which shows in their original music.

Kitchen%20Jams

We're pumped to have these guys at CHOW284. We know they'll put on a great show.

Dont Say No! is performing Saturday July 16 @ 9PM at CHOW284!

Don't Say No! live!
Saturday, July 16 @ 9PM

Don't Say No aint your mama's friends sisters brother-in-law's standard issue cover band...

Shredding through punk, grunge, and alternative rock classics, and blowing your head off with insanely high energy, epic guitars, and searing vocals, Don't Say No will leave a lasting impression on you, your pets, and your neighbors pets.
Check out their Facebook page...then come see them perform. They'll melt your face off.

Don't say no to Don't Say No! Seriously. I went there.

Thirsty Thursday - 7/14 - Keli Vale & Philadelphia Brewing Co.

In a week of madness (in a good way of course), Thursday looks to be one of the better days. We have 2 seperate events overlapping each other immediately following The 284 Happy Hour.

From 7-9pm, CHOW284's Ryan will be hosting a Philadelphia Brewing Co. tasting. Samples of Rowhouse Red, Newbold IPA & Walt Wit will be handed out to all those of legal age.

Beginning at 8pm and ending whenever she feels like it, Keli Vale will perform songs from all over. Check out her page. She has a fantastic singing voice and always leaves the crowd smiling.

*Keli Vale will also be performing Saturday, July 9 @ 8pm & Aug 11 (which is her birthday bash).

Quizzo every Wednesday with Greg from Mixed Media Productions (cheap beer specials for participants)

Every Wednesday beginning at 7pm, Greg from Mixed Media Productions will be working his trivia magic. This is far from your typical A or B questionaire. Greg implements plenty of creativity in his audio & visual aspects of quizzo.

Family Feud, Name That Tune & Celebrity High School Photos are all common rounds in Mixed Media's Quizzo.
Who is this teen beauty?

Or this hunk?

$5 pitchers of Miller Lite or Pabst Blue Ribbon for all participants

This week at CHOW284 - 9 DIFFERENT EVENTS IN 7 DAYS!

It's a very busy week at CHOW284. We have all kinds of things lined up and based on past events, it should be a lot of fun.

First off, Monday we have our weekly poker tournaments. The kicker is that this week's winner automatically gets invited the $1,000 Final Table in two weeks. No buy-ins, no entrance fees, no money of your pocket no matter what. Games begin at 9pm.

Tuesday we have our monthly Food & Wine Pairing from 6-8pm. Wine experts have put together a menu of food & wine combinations. The 6-dish event has a flat fee of $25. Local winery Sand Castle will have 3 different wines to sample and a seperate dessert menu will be available for purchase including those Sand Castle products.

Wednesday is our weekly quizzo night with Greg from Mixed Media Productions beginning at 7pm. We offer $5 pitchers of Miller Lite & Yuengling Lager to all participants. Can you guess which celebrity this embarrassing high school photo belongs to?

Thursday we have Philadelphia Brewing Company coming in for FREE samples of Rowhouse Red, Newbold IPA & Walt Wit from 7-9pm. On top of that, Keli Vale will be performing at 8pm.

Friday the talented Carly Krantz will be back with accompanying guitarist, piano and powerful voice. Set starts at 9pm.

Saturday, CHOW284's very own Josh "Thomas" Peacock's band, Don't Say No, will be making their CHOW284 debut. These are full of energy. It's sure to be a fun night.

To cap it off, Sunday we have two musical acts. The talented jazz trio, Soul Station will be back again for a brunch performance, from 11-2pm. Later that night, Lou Aiello's 3rd performance will have everybody dancing, as usual.

As you can see, we have a lot going on. If you haven't been to any of our special events, now's the time.

*Picture hint: He was recently "roasted" on Comedy Central.

This week, automatically qualify for the $1,000 Final Tournament with a victory!

Monday July 11 & July 18 @ 9pm

It's the end of poker season and you know what means - it's time to give away $1,000!

All the dedicated players who came all throught the season and piled points higher than a 10 on the river, have solidified their spots in the final tournament. Throw all that out the door. Over the next two weeks, there are no points, no cash prizes. Just a reserved seat at the final table at stake and a chance to win $1,000 - still with no entrance fees, no buy-ins.

If there's one day to let your poker skills shine, it's Monday night. I did the math. It generally takes 2 hours per tournament. Winning a qualifying tournament, then the $1,000 table, that's a small total of 4 hours of labor. On a typical 40-hour work week, that's $10,000 a week or a yearly salary of 520k!

That's about the same as an entry level NHL contract. Or an orthopedic hand surgeon.

Not a bad take considering you're only sitting on your keister enjoying $2 bottles of Coors, Miller Lite, Bud & Michelob Ultra anyway.

A rep from Sand Castle Winery will also be present, conducting their own tastings for FREE! We value your feedback, whether it's positive or negative. If you, the customer, like what Sand Castle has to offer, we'll carry their product on a regular basis.

Thirsty Thursday at CHOW284 - 7/7 Edition - Svedka Vodka & Jamie Stem performing!

TONIGHT from 7-9pm

Week 1 was awesome and I don't expect anything less tonight. We will be taking a one week hiatus from our beer tastings to hand out FREE Vodka martinis instead!
On top of that, Doylestown's own Jamie Stem of Sinch will be performing an acoustic set.
What else are you gonna do with no Phillies tonight?!

Brittany from Svedka Vodka will be greeting all our guests, of age, with either a Clementine Crush (Clementine Vodka, Triple Sec, orange juice & a splash of Sprite) or Spiked Arnold Palmer (Citron Vodka, iced tea & lemonade)!

And in case you haven't heard of Sinch...well...they're pretty big. They've played shows with the likes of Korn, Rob Zombie and Linkin Park. When you're Youtube video has over 50,000 views, somebody must think you're special. Their frontman Jamie Stem has been kind enough to entertain us and entertaining is what he does best. CHOW!

FREE Poker games with CASH prizes stepped up a notch...

As most of you know, CHOW284 has been hosting Texas Hold'em tournaments every Monday, courtesy of Belly Busters Poker. Well this week we're stepping it up a notch.

Every week, points are awarded to top players, as well as cash prizes. At the end of each 3 month season, a $1,000 final table is awarded to the top performers of the season. Not bad for BEING COMPLETELY FREE, huh?

Tonight is the last night to gain points for this season and we are the last host in the circuit to have games. This is a very good thing both BBP die-hards and rookies. For the seasoned vets, it's your final chance to gain points and work your way up the rankings. No other place in Bucks County is hosting poker for the remained of this season. For the newbies, there's a nice pot waiting to be won. For each table in game, the pot sweetens by $25. If all these dedicated Belly Buster players head to CHOW284, we'll pack plenty of tables filled. It'd be the perfect crime to come in and swipe the biggest pot yet.

The game begin at 9 tonight. Good luck!

Based on last night's Victory Brewing tastings...WE WILL BE SELLING SUMMER LOVE & STORM KING STOUT!

Last night's Victory Brewing Company tastings were a huge success. Everybody was really excited and we received a lot of feedback, both good and bad.

Surprisingly, HopDevil was everyone's least favorite. It's one of Victory's top sellers but Storm King Stout & Summer Love stole the show.

Storm King Stout is a 9.1% multi-malt stout. It's pitch black and creamy with a hint of espresso, chocolate and carmel. It's delicious and all of the tasting attendees agreed.

Summer Love is a lighter American blonde ale. 5.2% alochol along the lines of Bud, Coor Light & Miller Lite. It's an ideal summer brew with a slight citrusy taste and refreshing crispness.

Here's the Beer Advocate reviews for both - Storm King, Summer Love. Thanks to all who came out.

We will be hosting tastings every Thursday from 7-9pm. Next week is Svedka Vodka, Philadelphia Brewing Company the week after. Keep your eyes on our activity board and blog for a list of tastings. Coming soon - Boxcar, Weyerbacher, Magic Hat, Saranac & Dogfish Head.

Queen Helene is performing at CHOW284!

It's party time at CHOW284. Queen Helene will be making her debut tonight and she plans on making an impression. This powerhouse rock & dance band is well-versed and ready to entertain.

Come on out at 5 for the 284 Happy Hour, then stay for some good live music.
